Porto's Casillas, who is currently the second choice goalkeeper for his national side behind Manchester United's David De Gea, was joint on 166 caps with former Latvia midfielder Vitalijs Astafjevs before faeaturing in the 6-1 demolition of South Korea.
After represented his country at Under-15, 16, 17, 18, 20 and 21 level, the 32-year-old earnt first senior Spain cap against Sweden on 3 June, 2000, and has since gone on to win the 2010 World Cup as well as the European Championships in 2008 and 2012 with Spain.
Casillas became captain of Spain back in 2008.
